TaskLink — Privacy Policy

1. What TaskLink Does

TaskLink is a browser extension that lets you schedule reading and work tasks directly from any webpage. When you add a task, TaskLink saves it to your browser's local storage and creates an event on your Google Calendar using your own Google account.

2. Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored only on your device, never transmitted to TaskLink's servers (which do not exist):

• URLs and page titles of tasks you create
• Scheduled date and time for each task
• Task type (Read or Work) and status (upcoming or done)
• Your custom time preset settings and task duration preferences
• Google Calendar event IDs associated with each task

This data is stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB and chrome.storage.local / browser.storage.local). It is removed when you uninstall the extension or clear your browser's extension data.

3. Google Account and Google Calendar

TaskLink uses Google OAuth 2.0 to authenticate with your Google account. This is required solely to create calendar events on your behalf. TaskLink:

• Requests only the calendar.events scope — the minimum required to create events
• Only writes to your calendar — it never reads, lists, or deletes your existing events
• Does not store your Google account credentials — authentication is handled entirely by Google
• Does not share your Google account information with any third party

Your use of Google Calendar is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Permissions Explained

• contextMenus — to add right-click menu items on links and pages
• storage — to save your tasks and settings locally on your device
• identity — to authenticate with Google for creating calendar events
• tabs — to read the current tab's URL and title when you add a page as a task
• notifications — to confirm when a task has been successfully created

5. Data Sharing

TaskLink does not share any data with third parties, advertisers, or analytics services. The only external service TaskLink communicates with is the Google Calendar API, using your own Google account credentials, solely to create the calendar events you request.

6. Analytics and Tracking

TaskLink contains no analytics code, tracking pixels, or telemetry of any kind.

7. Children's Privacy

TaskLink does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
